Ivan Petrella is associate professor of religious studies at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. Petrella is a citizen of Argentina and spends much of the year there. His academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in foreign service from Georgetown University, and his books include The Future of Liberation Theology: An Argument and Manifesto; Beyond Liberation Theology: A Polemic; and (as editor) Latin American Liberation Theology: The Next Generation. He served as co-executive editor of the Reclaiming Liberation Theology book series.
