The United Methodist Kairos Response was founded in 2010 in response to Kairos Palestine, a Christian Palestinian movement. It is critical of the Israeli government and calls for the United Methodist Church to “divest its holdings in companies that support and profit from Israel’s occupation.” UMKR is a member organization of the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation. General inquiries can be directed to UMKR’s co-chair, the Rev. Michael Yoshii, who is based in Alameda, California.
