Religious nones are the face of the evolving religious landscape. But that oversimplifies shifts taking place around the world, according to the research.

Jonathan Fox is a professor of religion and politics at Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan, Israel. He directs the Religion and State Project, which tracks faith-related policies around the world.

Lesley Sachs is the director of Women of the Wall, an international consortium of Jewish women who want women to be able to pray at Jerusalem’s Western Wall. She lives in Jaffa, Israel.

Jewish Voice for Peace describes itself as a grass-roots organization opposed to anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim bigotry and for Palestinian self-determination and peace in the Middle East. Francesco Spagnolo is the curator of the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life at the University of California, Berkeley. His specialties include music and digital media, but he has curated a number of visual exhibits at the Magnes, including one on botanical drawings and one on European Jewish posters.

The International Press Institute has prepared a handbook for journalists, titled “Use With Care: A Reporter’s Glossary of Loaded Language in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.” It’s available in print or PDF form (registration required) and includes suggested alternatives to problematic terms.
