Stephen Helms Tillery is an associate professor of bioengineering and fellow of the Lincoln Center for Applied Ethics at Arizona State University. He has helped develop cutting-edge technology related to prosthetics, but he’s skeptical that science will ever produce the advancements predicted by transhumanists.

Sara Imari Walker is an associate professor at the School of Earth and Space Exploration and deputy director of Beyond: Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. She is also the leader Emergence, an ASU research group focused on the origins of life here and elsewhere in the universe.

Brother Guy Consolmagno is a Jesuit and director of the the Vatican Observatory, as well as president of its foundation. He is a frequent commentator on religion and science and wrote the pamphlet “Intelligent Life in the Universe: Catholic belief and the search for extraterrestrial life.” The observatory is in Tucson, Ariz.

Subbarao Kambhampati is a professor of computer science and engineering at Arizona State University in Tempe and president of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence. He frequently speaks and gives interviews about the implications of AI on human society. One of his lectures on the subject is available on YouTube.

Southside Presbyterian Church in Tucson, Ariz., has participated in the sanctuary movement since its first wave in the 1980s. In addition to continuing to house undocumented immigrants, it organizes other congregations throughout the nation in the new sanctuary movement. The Rev. Alison Harrington is pastor.

James Weinstein is a professor of constitutional law and a faculty fellow at the Center for Law, Science & Innovation at Arizona State University. He is also an associate fellow at the Centre for Public Law at the University of Cambridge. His areas of research are constitutional law, particularly free speech, as well as jurisprudence and legal history.
