The Women’s Leadership Centre in Windhoek, Namibia, promotes women’s writing and other forms of personal and creative expression as a form of resistance to discrimination and oppression embedded in patriarchal cultures and society, with the aim of developing indigenous feminist activism in Namibia. Lynn Gottlieb is a rabbi and a feminist, as well as a “storyteller, percussionist, peace educator, writer, ceremonialist, community activist and clown.” She has participated in Jewitch meetings and retreats. Gottlieb is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Ellen T. Armour is director of the Carpenter Program in Religion, Gender and Sexuality at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., and a professor in the Divinity School. Her research interests include feminist theology; theories of sexuality, race, gender, disability and embodiment; and contemporary continental philosophy.
