Walt Brown is director of the Center for Scientific Creation, based in Phoenix, Ariz., and was part of a 1998 panel that advised the local board of education on science standards and evolution. He has said he does not endorse the teaching of religion in public schools but is critical of the state’s science standards because, he says, they are one-sided in favor of evolution.
