Anne Feldhaus is a professor of religious studies at Arizona State University in Tempe. She specializes in folk Hinduism, medieval Hinduism and religious geography. Her publications include Connected Places: Region, Pilgrimage, and Geographical Imagination in Maharashtra (2003), and Water and Womanhood: Religious Meanings of Rivers in Maharashtra (1995).

Love 146 is a global anti-trafficking organization that works in prevention and aftercare for victims. The group works closely with organizations that rescue children. Offices are in New Haven, Conn.; Houston; and London.

Traffick911 is a Texas-based nonprofit founded by Deena Graves to combat the child sex trade in the United States.

This Chicago-based denomination works to fight against human trafficking with its ”Break the Chains” project. The church also has prepared a 40-page booklet to help congregations combat the problem at the local level.

Diana L. Eck is a professor emerita of comparative religion and Indian studies at Harvard University. Eck retired from active teaching duties in 2024 and is now working as a research professor. She was also director of Harvard’s Pluralism Project, which explores the religious diversity of the U.S. 

Richard H. Davis is a professor of religion at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. He is an expert in the Shaiva traditions of India. He can discuss the rise of Indian nationalism and how it makes itself felt in the U.S., as well as provide background information on the textbook debate. 

Janice Crouse is executive director and senior fellow at the Beverly LaHaye Institute, the think tank of Concerned Women for America. She has long been involved in the fight against sex trafficking and received an award from the U.S. State Department for her work on that issue.

Edwin F. Bryant is an associate professor of religion at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., where he teaches courses in Hindu philosophy and religion. He specializes in the Krishna tradition and the Hare Krishna movement.

Susie Johnson is on the human trafficking team of the United Methodist Women. She is also executive director for public policy with the Women’s Division of the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries.
