Keith Ellison is the attorney general of Minnesota and the first African American and first Muslim to be elected to statewide office in Minnesota. In March 2021, Ellison co-authored a USA Today column titled “Stand together to fight anti-Asian hate. We all have a stake in a more inclusive America.”

Zahid Hussain is the director of hunger prevention for ICNA Relief. The relief organization is part of the Islamic Circle of North America.

Imam Saad Jalloh is the spiritual leader of the Islamic Cultural Center of New York. Throughout the pandemic, he has offered support for those caring for the sick and dying at local hospitals.

Dawud Walid is the executive director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Walid’s organization is providing video of sermons and prayer services for distribution in state prions.

Tarek El-Messidi is the founding director of CelebrateMercy, a Muslim nonprofit working to support people in need. CelebrateMercy partnered with two other Muslim organizations to raise funds for families affected by the coronavirus-linked economic downturn.

Hyder Ali is the president of the Muslim Association of Puget Sound in Washington.

Imam Sikander Hashmi leads the Kanata Muslim Association in Ottawa, Canada. He’s also a member of the Canadian Council of Imams.

Adrian Zenz is a researcher and Ph.D. supervisor at the European School of Culture and Theology in Korntal, Germany, where he studies China’s repression of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang and Tibet. He is also a senior fellow in China studies at the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation in Washington, D.C.

Mohd Asri bin Zainul Abidin is an associate professor of Islamic studies at the University of Science in Malaysia and an Islamic jurist. In 2019, he called on Muslims around the world to boycott Chinese products until Uighur Muslims were guaranteed better treatment.
