An international non-profit organization whose mission is to empower local media worldwide to give people the news and information they need, the ability to connect and the means to make their voices heard.

Guidelines developed in 2001 for journalists producing images and stories about the “war on terrorism.”

Campaign to improve media coverage of social issues by promoting professional connections between journalists, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). Goal is to help public and private organizations understand the media and deal with them professionally. Activities include seminars; training workshops; and networking between CSOs, NGOs and journalists.

Rural journalists in Pakistan receive basic training in news gathering, writing and transmission; social and development issues; and journalistic duties, rights and ethics. Workshops have taken place in areas such as Tharparkar, Dera Ismail Khan, Swat, Dir, Chitral and Skardu.

Broadcast and other media professionals, scholars and stakeholders meet in Asia and exchange perspectives on broadcasting and information. All media professionals welcome. Website includes photos from previous summits.  

Regional inter-governmental organization working in electronic media development with countries of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP).
