John C. Blakeman is associate professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. His publications include “The Religious Geography of Religious Expression: Local Governments, Courts and the First Amendment,” published in 2006 in the Journal of Church and State.

Milwaukee Christian Center was founded to help local immigrants. It provides programs for first-time juvenile offenders. Karen Higgins is executive director.

Rep. Fred Kessler, D-Milwaukee, introduced a bill in the Wisconsin Legislature that would raise the age at which youths are treated as adults in criminal cases from 16 to 17.

Jack R. Kloppenburg Jr. is a professor in the department of community and environmental sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He teaches a course called Food, Culture and Society, which explores hunger issues.

Dr. Norman Fost is a professor of pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He is chairman of the Human Subjects Committee and the Hospital Ethics Committee. He has written about hospital ethics committees and the use of enhancing medical technologies.

Arthur Derse is director of medical and legal affairs, associate director of the Center for the Study of Bioethics, and clinical professor of bioethics and emergency medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He serves as a consultant and board member of a many nationally known bioethics groups.

Christopher Hays is an associate professor of anthropology at the University of Wisconsin, Washington County in West Bend. He is an expert on the relationship between science and religion.

Janine P. Geske, retired Wisconsin Supreme Court justice, developed a restorative justice program at Marquette University in Milwaukee.
