United to End Genocide began as the Genocide Intervention Network at Swarthmore College in 2005 as a way to raise money to help resolve the Darfur crisis. It has developed into a network of campus groups across the country. It is now based in Washington, D.C.

The Save Darfur Coalition is an alliance of more than 170 faith, advocacy and humanitarian organizations, representing all the major religions and dozens of Jewish, Muslim and Christian groups. It advocates for public awareness and public policy change and provides aid. It is now part of the United to End Genocide coalition.

Stephen C. Smith is professor of economics and international affairs at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and author of Ending Global Poverty: A Guide to What Works (Palgrave MacMillan, 2005). The book discusses the role of faith-based organizations.

The center is an interdisciplinary program in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, dedicated to the study of the modern Middle East and the geo-cultural area in which Islamic civilization prospered, and continues to shape world history.  The center at the University of Arkansas includes professors in a variety of disciplines.

Timothy Furnish is an expert in Islamic and Middle Eastern history and Islamic fundamentalism as well as Mahdism (Islamic messianism. He is the author of Holiest Wars: Islamic Mahdis, their Jihads and Osama bin Laden (Praeger Publishers, 2005).  He is a former military Christian army chaplain.

Natana Delong-Bas is an associate professor of theology at Boston College. She teaches courses on Islam, environmentalism and Muslim women.

Dr. Sayyid M. Syeed is National Director for Interfaith and Community Alliances at the Islamic Society of North America.

Safa Rifka is the chair of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. This group condemned the Muhammad cartoons, calling them hateful and racist. ADC lists state chapters.

Salam Al-Marayati is president of the Muslim Public Affairs Council. The group condemned both the Danish cartoons and the violence they spawned.
